RABUN COUNTY BAND BOOSTER'S LETTER

Dear Friends & Supporters,

The Rabun County Band Boosters is honored to be the recipient of this year’s Rhapsody in Rabun “Taste of the Mountains” event to be held SATURDAY, AUGUST, 11, 2018 at the Rabun County Civic Center. It is the premier fundraising event in our community and features fine foods and wines from local restaurants and vineyards, excellent silent and live auctions and an energetic band, Back In Time, who will add lively music to the fun-filled evening.

The RC Band Boosters mission for the funds raised with the charity soiree is to purchase new uniforms and update musical instruments. The RC Band Program – for all three levels of school – receives a very limited state/county budgeted funds that is designated only for maintenance of instruments, uniforms alterations/cleaning, and travel costs related to competition trips; never for new uniforms or updated instruments by themselves. The current uniforms are worn after twelve years of routine handling and are uncomfortably warm, given the variation of use between the exertions of marching band and formal symphonic performances. The new proposed uniforms are designed to be more breathable and durable for all the performances throughout the school year. These hardworking and dedicated group of young people strive for excellence and are appreciative of this opportunity to show it not only with their skill, but with a sharp, new, and comfortable look.

Rabun County Band Boosters hope that you will help make this year’s event a success by donating an item or two for our auctions. Please complete the enclosed form (or the volunteer will be happy to do so) or visit the Rhapsody in Rabun website to complete the online form. Go to www.rhapsodyinrabun.com then click on the 2018 Taste of the Mountains, and then scroll onto the auction link. The auction volunteer will contact you and arrange to pick up your donated items.

Thank you so much for your support and we hope you join us on the red carpet for THE SOUND OF THE WILDCAT NATION”.

Sincerely,

The Auction Committee
